After refining the key takeaways from the last year’s Unknown Causes of Kidney Disease Summit, AKF has developed a roadmap to present a path forward for improving the diagnosis of the causes of kidney disease and kidney failure.
The solutions that AKF outlines are based on expert input from the Summit and can help reduce the number of patients unaware of the origins of their kidney disease.

Over the past year, we've learned that life can change quickly. That's why this August we invite you to plan ahead for National Make-a-Will Month. If you are part of the majority of people who do not have an up-to-date legal will in place, you can use FreeWill, a free, online resource that guides you through the process of creating a legally valid will in 20 minutes or less.
Take care of all the changes in your life and write or update your will today. >>

This August marks 50 years since AKF was founded by a group of friends who rallied around a loved one with kidney failure. You are part of a community that, five decades later, is still driven by the same conviction: everyone should have access to lifesaving care for their disease, and no one should have to fight it alone.
To mark this special birthday, we're doubling your gift for the entire month of August—up to $50,000—to make sure we can be there for all kidney patients, where and when they need us.
Please donate today to ensure that we maximize your contribution. >>

The Chronic Kidney Disease Improvement in Research and Treatment Act of 2021 (H.R. 3912/S. 1971) aims to improve the lives of those with kidney disease. The legislation would increase awareness of kidney disease and expand preventative services. Additionally, the bill would also give dialysis patients under the age of 65 who are Medicare beneficiaries guaranteed access to Medigap plans.
Please contact your members of Congress and ask them to cosponsor this important legislation. >>
