WEBINAR
Webinar on diabetes and kidney disease

Nov. 28 webinar: Eat healthy with diabetes and kidney disease

In recognition of National Diabetes Awareness Month, our next webinar will focus on managing two conditions that often overlap, diabetes and kidney disease. Since diabetes is the number one cause of kidney disease and kidney failure, having both conditions is common. Diabetes and kidney disease each have their own unique diet recommendations, so there are things people with both conditions should pay special attention to. Join us on Wednesday, November 28 for a free webinar to learn how diet and lifestyle choices can keep both diabetes and kidney disease in check.

ADVOCACY
Take action today!

Urge your representatives to cosponsor the Rare Disease Advancement, Research, and Education Act

A number of rare diseases cause kidney failure, including Berger’s disease and Alport syndrome. Rare diseases are defined as affecting less than 200,000 people in the United States. Since the number of kidney patients with rare diseases is low, legislation that assures these diseases are not excluded from research is needed.

The Rare Disease Advancement, Research, and Education Act would increase funding for the National Institutes of Health Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network, which is made up of 21 centers of excellence that study rare diseases in an intra-disciplinary manner.
