Why our mission matters With more than 31 million people living with kidney disease the American Kidney Fund’s mission of education, prevention and treatment-related financial assistance has never been more important. Nearly half a million people in this country have kidney failure and rely on dialysis to survive. We’re dedicated to ensuring that every kidney patient has access to health care, and that every person at risk for kidney disease is empowered to prevent it.
