Nominate an Outstanding Caregiver for our Annual Award

Caregiver of the Year Each year, we recognize an outstanding and inspirational person as our Caregiver of the Year— a family member, friend, or renal professional who is making life better for a kidney patient. Honor a caregiver you know by nominating him or her. It’s easy—just fill out our nomination form by May 15. For inspiration, watch our video of our 2014 Caregiver of the Year.


Alabama Girl’s Art Chosen for 2016 Calendar Cover

Kaylee ClaboughWe’re excited to announce that the young artist who received the greatest number of votes in our online contest to select the cover of our 2016 calendar is Kaylee Clabough, 8, from Hartselle, Alabama. Kaylee’s winning drawing, "The Life Saver," received more than 500 votes. You can see all the finalists' artwork on our website. As the cover winner, Kaylee will receive a trip to Washington, D.C., to be recognized at our annual national gala, The Hope Affair, on Sept. 30, 2015.


Advocates Visit Washington During Kidney Month

AKF Advocates A dozen members of our Advocacy Network joined us in the nation’s capital last month to meet with their elected representatives to advocate for the Chronic Kidney Disease Improvement in Research and Treatment Act of 2015. Their visit took place in conjunction with our annual Kidney Action Day on the Hill where we provided free kidney health screenings, fitness activities and kidney health education.  Watch a slideshow of the event.
