AKF Reaching Out - Newsletter

July 2014 AKF eNews

Every summer, supermarkets, farmer’s markets, roadside stands and garden plots overflow with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Summer is the best time of year to focus on healthy eating as one of the ways to help prevent kidney disease. At each of our Kidney Action Days, we invite local chefs to provide cooking demonstrations featuring healthy meals that are part of the healthy lifestyle that can help protect you—and the people you love—from kidney disease.

Because most people do not know that diabetes and high blood pressure are the leading causes of kidney disease, the American Kidney Fund’s outreach and education efforts have never been more important. Those efforts are funded by generous support from our sponsors, as well as by friends like you who share our passion for preventing kidney disease. Thank you for being a partner in the fight against kidney disease!
